Low pressure to bring in heavy rain

The Meteorological department has warned of thundershowers in some places

Visakhapatnam: The Meteorological department has warned of thundershowers in some places in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the next 24 hours.

Heavy rains may occur at isolated places in Guntur, Nellore and Prakasam districts in coastal Andhra Pradesh and in all districts of Rayalaseema due to a trough of low pressure spreading from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu.

The Met office has also warned that heat wave conditions would prevail in Adilabad, Warangal, Khammam, Karimnagar, Medak and Ranga Reddy districts in the coming 48 hours.

Sudden rainfall coupled with gales and lightning has also been predicted. It is primarily due to cumulonimbus cloud formation in many places, say the experts.

Rain occurred in most places in Rayalaseema, many places in Telangana and in isolated places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh in the past 24 hours.

There was significant rainfall in Mahbubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts in Telangana, and Chittoor, Anantapur, and Kurnool districts in Rayalaseema as well as in Visakhapatnam and Prakasam districts.

Kollapur in Mahbubnagar recorded the highest rainfall of 14 cm and Kalwakurthy received 10 cm in the last 24 hours.
