AP CM-designate Chandrababu yet to decide on his Cabinet oath taking ceremony

Senior party leaders suggested that Naidu alone take oath as CM of Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to be sworn in as the new CM on June 8 at a location between Vijayawada and Guntur. But the MLAs waiting to be sworn in as ministers are yet to know if they will be sworn in along with Mr Naidu.

Mr Naidu had earlier decided to take some ministers along with him. But the TD leaders differ in their opinions on this issue putting Naidu in a dilemma about the oath taking of the ministers. Some senior party leaders suggested that Mr Naidu alone take oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh to ensure that the focus stays on him while the Cabinet ministers can take oath a few days later.

One of the reasons for their apprehension is that disgruntled aspirants of a ministerial berth and their supporters could spoil the atmosphere of the function to be attended by many VIPs. The party expects nearly 5 lakh party workers to attend the swearing in ceremony.

But some senior leaders differed in their opinion. They said if the swearing in ceremony of Cabinet ministers is postponed it will lead to further delay. When TDP is organizing such a grand function for the swearing in ceremony of Chandrababu as Chief Minister, workers would be happy if the cabinet ministers take oath from the same dais.

Chandrababu is not likely to name the full cabinet at one stroke. Those aspirants disappointed at being left out of the cabinet can hope to find a berth in the cabinet expansion. Chandrababu will take a final call on the matter soon said a TDP leader close to him.
