Lucknow: There is report of child labour being used to construct the helipad of BSP chief Mayawati for her tour to meet with the families of rape victims. It is also being alleged that a farmer’s land has been cleared to build the helipad. A tent and a stage was also built there.
According to reports Dalit children in Katra village were found cleaning the helipad. Ms Mayawati said the local administration was responsible for making minor dalit children work on the helipad.
“It is the duty of the district administration to make the helipad, and this shows their attitude towards dalits,” said a BSP leader.
However Badaun MP and Samajwadi party leader Dharmendra Yadav has called for the administration to look into this matter and held the BSP accountable for it.
