TRS menu features free biryani, sweets at fete spots at Telangana celebrations

Civic body action plans to gift beautiful roads, parks on Telangana’s 1st birthday

Hyderabad: As part of the grand celebration, Hyderabad biryani packets and sweets will be distributed to the public participating in Telangana celebrations at Necklace Road, Tank Bund, Parade Grounds and other major junctions. Orders have been placed with the popular Paradise Hotel for supplying mini-biryani packets. Chat Bhandar items will also be supplied free of cost.

GHMC has also come up with an “action plan” to beautify the roads and footpaths at main junctions.

“We have planned Telangana formation celebrations in 150 main junctions across the city. All the top leaders from TRS will participate in these celebrations. The idea is to celebrate the festival with people. This is the most cherished moment for each and every Telanganite since their 60-year-old dream of a T-state is becoming a reality,” said Karne Prabhakar, TRS politburo member, who is heading the T-celebrations committee constituted by the party.

Several cultural programmes highlighting the language, traditions, culture and festivals of Telangana have been planned on Necklace Road and Tank Bund from Sunday midnight.

Popular T-folklore artiste Rasamayi Balakishan, who has been elected as a TRS MLA, has organised “Telangana Dhoom Dhaam” at Necklace Road and Tank Bund at midnight.

Meanwhile, Telangana becomes pink city, all decked up for D-Day. Hyderabad is blushing. TRS flags, banners and huge cut-outs of KCR have begun to adorn all major junctions, turning the city into a sea of pink in the run-up to the formation of T-state and swearing-in-ceremony of KCR as its first CM on Monday. Traffic islands, dividers and flyovers are covered with pink flags.

Necklace Road, Tank Bund, Secretariat and all other major roads have turned pink in an overwhelming display of the TRS flags and festoons.

TRS has decided to go the whole hog at 150 main junctions across the city on the eve of the historic event. Huge-cutouts of KCR of 50ft to 60ft height are being set up at 25 main junctions across the city, apart from another 1,000 hoardings welcoming the new T-state and KCR.

Cultural programmes highlighting Telangana culture, language and festivals are also being conceived while LED screens are being set up at all the major traffic junctions to enable the public to view the swearing-in ceremony of KCR.

Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park, located in front of Legislative Assembly, has been illuminated. A huge stage is being constructed to organise cultural programmes at the venue from midnight of Sunday.

Parade Grounds in Secunderabad is being readied to host the official celebration to be attended by KCR immediately after taking oath as CM. Officials have planned several cultural programmes on the occasion.
