Akshay Kumar attended the muhurat launch of Marathi movie ‘Thann Than Gopal’ in Mumbai on Friday. Akshay, who has wowed with his superb performances and stunts in Hindi films, is all praise for the Marathi cinema. Seen here: Akshay lights the lamp at the event.
Akshay mentioned at the event, "Marathi cinema is a brilliant cinema. Being an actor from Hindi cinema I can say that Marathi cinema is much better than Hindi cinema because these people think from their hearts and not minds and the way they make a film is amazing." He even specified a film by Ritesh Deshmukh, "Recently, I saw the film 'Yellow', which has been made by one of my friends and I think this is one of the best films I have ever seen."

After the muhurat launch, Akshay was honoured with a bouquet and a shawl.
Akshay is gearing up for the release of his film 'Holiday' which will hit the theaters on June 6.
