YSRC objects to Telugu Desam's remarks against Jaganmohan Reddy

YSRC declares they have ideological differences with BJP, but will extend support to NDA

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress on Tuesday slammed Telugu Desam leaders for making remarks against their chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The TD leaders have been stating that Mr Reddy would soon go to jail. The YSRC said that the TD is mocking the judiciary by making statements regarding a matter which is sub judice.

YSRC legislator K. Sridhar Reddy said, “The party will play a constructive role and be a model Opposition party in the country. The remarks of TD leaders, raking up cases against Jagan Mohan Reddy and attributing them as perceived discussion that must have taken place with Narendra Modi are absurd as the matter is in court and the judiciary does not come under the purview of the Prime Minster of the Union Government.”

“Unwarranted talk of the TD leaders to lure local leaders to desert YSRCP is not in good taste and with eight MPs and 67 MLAs in Seemandhra we are a force to reckon with. We have full faith in our leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and we will play our role to its justified end," he said.

"We will support the government in everything that will help the people and will take the ruling party head-on if it reneges on its poll promises or fails to deliver the goods. The difference of voting percentage between us is just under 2 per cent and we are not far behind. Due to certain factors like Modi and others supporting TDP we got a shade less percentage but we are very strong and resolute," The percentage of TDP-BJP vote share is 1.69 per cent more than YSRC.

"We have ideological differences with BJP, that is why our leader said that the party will extend issue-based support to the NDA," he added.
