IPL7 SRH V/S RCB: AB batters eagles

De Villiers’ quickfire unbeaten 89 turns the match for Challengers
Bengaluru: The 19th over was a battle between two South Africans, both proven match-winners trying to gain full points for their respective teams. In the end, AB de Villiers had the last laugh, as he slammed the lethal Dale Steyn all over the park. Needing 28-runs off the last 12 balls, de Villiers took 24 of the penultimate over to set up Royal Challengers Bangalore’s four-wicket win over Sunrisers at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday night.
What was turning out to be a horror night for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, was given the much-needed flip by de Villiers’ unbeaten 89 (41b, 4x6, 6x8). Looking to overhaul Hyderabad’s competitive total of 155 for 6, RCB’s chase was off to an ominous start, as opener Parthiv Patel (3) attempting to drive Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (2/16) had his stumps shaken.
Earlier, winning the toss, Kohli, made the right call, deciding to chase. His bowlers led by the Mitchell Starc (2/21) began well with a tight line and length.
