1,200 martyrs gave us Telangana: Pawan Kalyan

Pawan Kalyan slams Congress over Telangana

Hyderabad: Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan on Friday said Telangana had not been formed thanks to the Congress or the TRS, but because of the martyrs of Telangana.
While campaigning for the BJP candidate for Secunderabad Parliamentary constituency, Mr Bandaru Dattatreya, in Secunderabad and Khairatabad, Pawan Kalyan said only the BJP-TD-Jana Sena combine could bring about development.

He held whirlwind campaigns in several places in Telangana before coming to the city. He had agreed to campaign for Mr Dattatreya after the latter asked him to do so.
Mr Dattatreya said, “Only Modi can build this nation and ensure development. The Congress has to be voted out.”

While Pawan Kalyan kept everyone waiting for two hours, there was frenzy when he finally turned up. “The Congress has the blood of 1,200 students on its hands. It didn’t do anything till all these martyrs died for the cause of Telangana,” he said in Khairatabad.

Earlier in Secunderabad, he said, “The NDA combine of the BJP, TD and the Jana Sena has one mantra: Development; One name: Narendra Modi and; one slogan: Congress hatao.”
Interestingly, Mr Modi didn’t seem to matter much at the Secunderabad meeting. The build up to the BJP-TD-Jana Sena was more about the TD and its Secunderabad candidate Kuna Venkatesham Goud. There was no mention of Mr Dattatreya until he arrived, symbolic of the discord between the two parties.
