Andhra Pradesh to get back Jindal power

High Court has directed SRLDC to restore the supply of 300 MW power to Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: The High Court has directed the Southern Regional Load Dispatch Centre (SRLDC), Bengaluru, to restore the supply of 300 MW power from the Jindal Power Project in Karnataka to Andhra Pradesh.

Justice A. Rajasekhar Reddy granted the interim direction while dealing with petitions of the APCPDCL challenging the action of Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) in withdrawing the No objection Certificate that was earlier issued by it for supply of 300 MW power to AP.

The petitioners told the court that APCPDCL, on behalf of all the four discoms in the state, had entered into an agreement with M/s. JSWPTC Ltd for supply of 300 MW power to AP for the period from May 31, 2013 to

May 29, 2014. Accordingly the company has supplied the said power till 30 March, 2014. As the KPTCL had withdrawn the NoC, the SRLDC, has stopped the supply of 300 MW to the AP.

After hearing, Justice Rajasekhar Reddy said “Prima facie, I am of the view that the KPTCL could not have withdrawn NoC and the SRLDC could not have rejected the application made by the JSWPTC Ltd.
