'Agnee' is all set to take on B’town with an interesting line up of films

Agnee recently gave music to satirical film 'Yeh Hai Bakrapur'
Mumbai: Popular Indie band Agnee, has given music to the satirical film Yeh Hai Bakrapur. The song that stands out at least in the current situation as the country gets ready to vote is Pair Anaadia song on the importance of voting.
Speaking about the project, the band’s lead vocalist K Mohan says, “We got associated with the film after it was made. It is a political satire about a goat named Shah Rukh. It is a beautiful film, like a breeze, not defamatory at all. We started with two songs and this one Pair Anaadi was a last minute idea, since it is a political satire and elections are approaching. Initially I was supposed to sing the song but then Raghu Ram of Roadies fame came on board, along with Indian Ocean’s Amit Kilam and Rahul Ram. The song is about the importance of casting your vote and voting responsibly.”
The trailer of the film had created quite a controversy with a goat being given superstar Shah Rukh’s name and it had lead to an online war between SRK and Salman Khan fans.
Speaking about the controversy, K Mohan explains, “Once the trailer came out Shah Rukh fans started sending me messages saying that although they respect me as a musician they didn’t expect me to stoop so low as to ridicule SRK. Salman fans on the other hand sent messages that I have finally put SRK in his place. Director Janaki Vishwanathan came to my place and said that the negative feedback too has worked in our favour, a small film like YHB got 1.1 million views in one week. We showed SRK the trailer and he liked it because at no point have we made fun of him.”
Another film that Agnee is working on his Abbas Tyrewala’s Mango that is a youth film in an urban setting. K Mohan says, “This is a project I’m very excited about. We have singers like Sunidhi Chauhan, Monali Thakur, Arijit Singh and Ash King on board. I try and work with friends, people I am comfortable with and that’s what I have done here. I was blown away with Monali’s talent she can sing difficult tunes so casually. Sunidhi has always been my favourite. She was in Australia when we approached her and we waited for her to return. I was gushing like a fan, though she is younger to me and I think I embarrassed her a lot.
"Arijit is wonderful and though people like Tum Hi Ho from Aashiqui 2 it is nowhere close to Phir Le Aaya Dil from Barfi. While approaching Arijit for Mango, I heard some song he sung in Yaariyan and I felt he deserves better songs so I called him and he thought I’m abusing him but I do tend to be like that with people I like. He’s one of the few singers who can pull off any kind of song. Ash King is another talented singer. He completely rocks RNB.”
