Metal sheet washed up in Australia may belong MH370’s

ATSB is examining photographs of material to determine whether it has links to MH370

Perth: Authorities are investigating whether “unidentified material” washed up on the southwest coast of Australia has any link to missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, officials said on Wednesday.

“Western Australia Police have attended a report of material washed ashore 10 km east of Augusta and have secured the material,” Australia’s Joint Agency Coordination Centre said in a statement.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) is examining photographs of the material to determine whether it has any links to the search for the missing jet, it added. The bureau has provided photographs of the material to the Malaysian investigation team.

Australia may use system that found Titanic for MH370

Perth: Australia is mulling deploying a more powerful system that tracked the Titanic 29 years ago to locate the wreckage of the crashed Malaysian airliner as a robotic mini-submarine scouring the Indian Ocean seabed has not achieved any breakthrough in its underwater mission.

Australia was also consulting Malaysia, China and the US on the next phase of the search for the plane.
