What prompted Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra's sudden wedding?

Mumbai: They had been dating for over a decade and there was only speculation of their wedding dates and venues.

So why the sudden wedding? Was it planned to be a sudden announcement or was it indeed a last-minute decision?

A leading daily has reported that the Aditya was prompted to take the decision because of Rani's father Ram Mukherjee's ill health. It is reported her father fell ill three weeks ago and had to be hospitalised. Aditya apparently made a promise to Ram Mukherjee that he would marry Rani immediately.

The venue was apparently decided on April 18 and the wedding date fixed on April 19. The wedding, the report says, happened Bengali style, for which a Bengali priest was also flown to Italy.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Rani wore her favourite designer at the wedding. Sabyasachi Mukherjee!

And it was a Sabyasachi for Rani Mukerji, of course. The designer was at the wedding, and personally styled the bride!
