TRS worker throws beer bottle at Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh at election rally

Police took few a people in custody and dispersed the mob
Hyderabad: Tension mounted in Pebbair mandal of Mahbubnagar on Sunday night as workers belonging to the TRS and the Telugu Desam locked horns after a TRS worker threw a beer bottle at TD leader N. Chandrababu Naidu’s son and party leader Nara Lokesh during an election campaign.
Enraged TD workers caught hold of TRS activist P. Yella Reddy and beat him up. Party workers also set his car on fire while TRS men retaliated by attacking another vehicle. Activists of both parties got embroiled in a fight over the next few minutes till the police intervened.
The incident occurred when Mr Lokesh was addressing a gathering in the village. The TRS worker threw a beer bottle at him, shouting slogans against the TD. However, he missed his target and it hit another party leader from Nagar-kurnool B. Narasimhulu.
A police team rushed to the spot as a fight broke out between workers of the TRS and the TD at Pebbair mandal of Mahbubnagar on Sunday night. TD leader Nara Lokesh was addressing a gathering there. Cops took few a people in custody and dispersed the mob. Meanwhile, TD state leaders condemned the attack on Mr Lokesh. TD Telangana election committee president L. Ramana sought an unconditional apology from the TRS for starting violence in the peaceful political rally.
“It is the culture of the TRS to use violence in order to provoke their opponents. They could not take the growing popularity of the TD in Telangana, that’s why they are going down to this level and attacking our leaders,” he said.
Mr Lokesh, as part of his campaign in Kurnool district, took part in birthday celebrations for his father in Kurnool and cut a cake.
