Hyderabad: Superstar Akkineni Nagarjuna is all set to host the Telugu version of popular quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' (KBC).
The show will go on air from mid-June and has been titled 'Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu' in Telugu.
MAA TV Chairman Nimagada Prasad told IANS that Nagarjuna was selected amongst 38 popular names that were considered to host the show.
"After rigorous selection process, we have zeroed in on Nagarjuna who we think will do complete justice to the show," Prasad added.
Nagarjuna is confident that the show will "provide a platform for people to realize their dreams."
A popular reality show, KBC, has already been aired in different languages. In the original Hindi version, it has hosted by the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan. The Tamil version has been hosted by Suriya and Prakash Raj.
While cricketer Sourav Ganguly hosted KBC in Bengali, Shatrughan Sinha hosted the Bhojpuri KBC and popular south actor Puneeth Rajkumar hosted the TV show in Kannada.
