First GPS watch designed for kids

This watch can keep track of your kids, lead you to them when lost or in danger

The developers of ‘hereO’ claim this product to be the smallest GPS watch designed for kids. The watch is a real-time connected GPS tracking device which is created for kids mainly three years an older. The watch has a tiny GPS-based tracking device and also includes a GSM radio with a built-in SIM card.

hereO enables parents to know the whereabouts of their children and any moment using their smartphone or PC. The built-in SIM card can connect to a local carrier which lists in around 120 countries.

The creators of the GPS watch said, “Imagine receiving a notification on your smartphone that reads ‘your child has arrived at school’. Knowing where your child is located at anytime with a click of a button, that is priceless. This is what hereO offers.”

hereO app for mobile is also a family app and can be beneficial for the whole family. The hereO Family App not only syncs with the hereO watch, but also with all other family members who are using the free hereO app, enabling you to know the whereabouts of your entire family. hereO offers the first complete end-to-end family location sharing service.

The app allows users to view their family’s whereabouts, broadcast messages and make calls, receive directions to family member’s current location and view each family member’s historical locations. It also allows for parents to create virtual fences around specific areas such as home, school or work, and it will notify them when a specific family member arrives or leaves that place.

The hereO GPS-watch’s dimension is 32X30X14mm. hereO is engineered to fit a child’s wrist and comes in a variety of trendy children’s designs and colors.

The watch is comfortable for any kid to wear everyday and is water resistant; it is very durable to keep the watch on even in the heaviest of play. It features a panic button that can be easily sent in any situation. Battery life last up to 24-72 hours between each charge (depending on the usage). Parent receives a notification when the battery is low.

How it works:

While the watch looks like an everyday child watch, when synched with the HereO Family app, the HereO GPS watch acts as tracker, allowing parents to keep in constant communication with their children. The hereO ecosystem consists of 3 main components: GPS tracking watch, back-end server, mobile app and web portal. The image below provides a high-level overview of how the hereO end-to-end system functions. The watch is bundled with a cellular connection provided by Wyless, which works in over 120 countries. This is similar to a standard cellular connection provided by companies like AT&T or Vodafone, except there is no external subscription needed.

The hereO watch is in the final stage of development and will be manufactured within the next few months. The price of the hereO GPS kids watch is estimated to be around 0 (approx Rs 9,500) which includes a 6-month subscription to the GSM carrier service, post which the service would cost you $5 (approx Rs 320) per month.
