Mamata Banerjee escapes unhurt after fire breaks out in her hotel room

Kolkata: West Bengal chief minister escaped unhurt after a fire broke out in her hotel hotel room in Malda district on Thursday evening. She was safely evacuated, as per party sources.
The incident took place around 7pm.
"She was in the room when the fire broke...She is safe," tweeted Trinamool national spokesperson Derek O'Brien.

In Malda for an election campaign, Ms Banerjee was staying in a private hotel called Golden Park.
