Telugu Desam Party chief pestered for seat

Local people opposed the selection of TDP candidate and want a Kapu leader

Rajahmundry: In the aftermath of TDP-BJP pre-poll alliance, TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu faced the wrath of a section of people as they demanded the Rajahmundry Rural Assembly seat for a local leader during his road show here on Tuesday.

The TDP chief who came in a chartered flight from Hyderabad, embarked on road show with a large number of party leaders and supporters holding party flags trailing behind his convoy. After addressing a large gathering at Gadala village, he reached Bommur Centre.

A group of villagers holding placards saying “We don’t want Buchaiah, We want Kapu leader to be given ticket,” greeted him. Though the TDP chief ignored them, they raised their voice and interrupted his speech. Naidu got angry and said, “If you want to be stubborn, I will be more adamant and I know how to handle such things.”
