Mystic Mantra: Rudra, Rudra, Maharudra

On Hanuman Jayanti, let us discuss Lord Hanuman and his specific energy

Creation exists in layers. Some are perceivable by our five senses, while for others higher senses are required. Yet, all the layers co-exist as the subtler or higher layers control the layers below. The creation, as it appears to an ordinary person, is the lowest layer controlled by the layer of energy or the world of ether. Every entity on earth is a reflection of energy and s/he is influenced by world of energy.

The realm of energy manifests itself first in the form of a thought, then sound, then colour, and finally the five elements that constitute our body. Premonition, clairaudience, clairvoyance, healing etc stem from here. Yoga Sanatan Kriya brings together the various layers of a being and as a result, certain higher centres open up, allowing the practitioner to perceive the various layers and aspects of the world of energy.

So today, on Hanuman Jayanti, let us discuss Lord Hanuman and his specific energy. A manifestation of the rudra aspect of Shiva (responsible for transformation and destruction), Lord Hanuman is dearest to Lord Ram. Lord Hanuman could hold the entire mountain of life-giving Sanjeevani in his hand; it was his energy that single-handedly set fire to Ravan’s Lanka. The shastras detail that the energy of Lord Hanuman is present on earth in kalyug too. In the realm of sound, this energy is channelised by the mantra “Rudra Rudra Maharudra”; in the realm of colour it manifests as kesar (saffron), and in the realm of five elements or bodily appearance, it takes the form of a monkey. Hence, it is not surprising that monkey has been revered, not just in Bharatvarsha, but by the Mayans, the Greeks and the Romans.

Lord Hanuman is not a myth as he is worshipped throughout the ancient world. It is energy that have taken birth in many forms. In the tretayug, of which Ramayan kaal is a part, the energy of Lord Hanuman manifested in the form of a vaanar (monkey).

Lord Hanuman’s energy still exists but is semi-dormant as there is no one to awaken it. This is a trait of Lord Hanuman’s energy — it needs to be awakened for the desired effect. Hanuman Jayanti is a powerful day to awaken Hanuman’s energies through specific powerful mantras. Keep chanting “Rudra Rudra Maharudra.”
