Reeva Steenkamp's sister brands Oscar Pistorius as 'disgusting liar'

Pretoria: Reeva Steenkamp's sister has reportedly branded Oscar Pistorius, who shot his model girlfriend dead on Valentine's Day last year, as a 'disgusting liar'.

Simone said that Pistorius, who is facing trial for murdering Steenkamp, is trying to convince the court that he and her sister were really close and that he cared for her, but she added that it is not the truth and Pistorius is lying.

According to News.com.au, Simone said that her feelings towards Pistorius hardened, adding that it was so scary when the Paralympic runner walked past Steenkamp's family, ignoring them, as Simone sat alongside her mother in the courtroom.

Simone said that her heart stopped when Pistorius walked past them, adding that she would like to think that his heart stopped too, as he knew Steenkamp's family was there in the courtroom, but he almost lost his balance and fell over when he saw them.

Steenkamp's sister said that Pistorius then sat in the dock, smirking, adding that he has killed her sister and yet he still seems to be enjoying his celebrity status.

Simone further added that Pistorius marched around as if he was still a star during the adjournments, while she and her mother just wanted to hide away.

Simone said that she does not understand how anyone can kill someone and behave like Pistorius did in the courtroom.

Steenkamp's family are reportedly planning to open a shelter in her memory for women who are victims of domestic violence but they have to wait for the trial to get over, which will go on for three more weeks.

Meanwhile, Pistorius has denied killing Steenkamp deliberately in the early hours of Valentine's Day last year by firing four shots at her through a toilet door at his home and claimed that he thought she was an intruder, the report added.
