H N Ananth Kumar makes too many promises

Bengaluru: The BJP promised to earmark a whopping Rs 10,000 crores for contruction of world class amenities in Bengaluru in a special manifesto released here on Saturday.

Releasing a manifesto for Bengaluru city, comprising four Lok Sabha constituencies, party general secretary and Bengalore (South) H N Ananth Kumar said the party’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was an expert in the concept of urbanization.

The party has promised to develop 100 smart cities across the county. Smart cities would be developed in semi-urban areas, and one of these would be developed near Bengaluru, he said adding that it would have all infrastructure facilities as well as be environmental friendly.

The party has promised to provide rail connectivity on par with international standards. A bullet train between Bengaluru - New Delhi and Bengaluru - Mumbai would be launched, reducing the travel time between these cities. Besides, the party would provide monorail connectivity between Kempe Gowda International Airport and Bengaluru city.

In the education sector, the party has promised to set up National Aeronautical University in Bengaluru besides carving a special knowledge zone by providing world class facilities in the field of education.

Replying a question on the Bidadi power plant, Mr. Kumar said that once NDA comes to power, Bidadi power plant would be commissioned.

Former deputy CM R. Ashok said to make Bengaluru a garbage-free city, the BJP government had taken steps to set up solid waste management units, but the present government had not taken forward these projects.
