Kochi welcoming foreign films

Kochi: Three foreign films will be screened at Changampuzha Park, Edappally, Kochi as part of the monthly film exhibition of Changampuzha Samsakrika Samithi.

The first Samovan language film from New Zealand, The Orator, a 106-minute film by Tusi Tamasese, will be screened today at 6 pm. Entirely shot in Samoa, with a Samoan cast and story, the film captures the traditions and values of their culture.

The 1957 movie, The Golden Age of Comedy, a 72-minute compilation of comic silent films from Mack Sennett and Hal Roach Studios, will be screened on April 14 at 6 pm. The film, by American filmmaker Robert Youngson, is divided into nine acts and was the first compilation of its kind in feature-length form.

Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurasowa’s 1990 film Dreams, will be screened on April 15 at 7 pm. It is based on magical realism and created with more imagery than dialogues. All the movies will be screened with English subtitles.
