Karunanidhi made an emotional appeal to people to vote for DMK

Chennai/Coimbature: The DMK is going all guns blazing. From Saturday, the party put most of the ammunition in its arsenal to use with DMK chief M. Karunanidhi, Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi and star campaigner Khushbu hitting the campaign trail from different parts of the state simultaneously. Barely a few days back, nonagenarian party general secretary K. Anbazhagan launched his campaign, unmindful of the back surgery he had undergone a few months ago.

Addressing an election rally in Coimbature, Karunanidhi made an emotional appeal to people to vote for DMK. Karunanidhi said, “This is my last election, and if you don’t vote for DMK now you can never be saved from Jayalalithaa.”

“She has amassed wealth to the tune of over 5000 crore as shown in DA case in Bangalore. She owns huge tracts of land. If you don’t vote for DMK she will over all the land in Tamil Nadu.”

Meanwhile, A Raja in Coimbatore rally said, I am ready even now to go back to jail if there’s even a shred of evidence against me. I am facing trial legally. But what is Jayalalithaa doing? She’s only delaying the case consistently.

Raja wanted to know why the Jayalalitha had not taken steps to implement the Avinashi-Athikadavu water supply scheme.

Meanwhile, DMk Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi on Saturday launched an all out assault against the AIADMK regime while launching her campaign for the April 24 Lok Sabha polls here. Addressing a public meeting at T Nagar, Ms Kanimozhi criticized AIADMK’s “peace, resource, prosperity” mantra and pointed out that as many as 5,740 murders and 58,731 robberies have been recorded in the three year AIADMK regime.
