UP governance in complete chaos: Amar Singh

'My wife is Gujarati and Modi calls Gujarati women his sisters so he is my sala'

Agra: The Mayawati and Mulayam Singh governments are responsible for destroying India's largest state, Uttar Pradesh, RLD candidate from Fatehpur Sikri, Amar Singh said on Friday at an election rally.

Amar Singh, formerly a close confidante of Mulayam, claimed he was only taking part in the elections to change the future of the state, which he said has become known as 'Ulta Pradesh'.

RLD chief Ajit Singh and his son Jayant Chaudhary accompanied Singh. He used his poetic abilities to be the cynosure in the rally in Akola village. "My wife is Gujarati, and Narendra Modi calls all Gujarati women his sisters, Modi is my sala," said Amar Singh.

Adding further, he said, "Par ek baat bhi sach hai, jis ghar me ghuse saala wahan hamesha hi laga hai taala." About the RLD-Congress alliance, he said both parties look to development, and his party would focus agriculture followed by industrialization in Fatehpur Sikri. He stated that the RLD would ensure that all farmers got land, and send their children to schools.

Ajit Singh's son and party candidate from Mathura, Jayant Chaudhary made a dramatic entry on stage, with a bouquet of wheat plants. Making a jibe at Narendra Modi, Jayant said one man could hardly be expected to change the whole scenario, as Modi claimed he would if voted to power, without letting extravagant promises.

Farmers who waited to hear RLD chief Ajit Singh to address the rally were disappointed, as the party chief spoke briefly, and did not dwell on his agenda. However, he thanked Amar Singh for joining the RLD and raising the party's glamour quotient.

"People who will vote for the BJP must think that this time, it will be not a BJP government, but a Modi government. This man has left no BJP in Gujarat. How will he work with the party if given the power to be the country's prime minister?" Ajit Singh asked.
