KCR seeks Chandrababu Naidu's stand on Polavaram project, Telengana issues

KC Rao said the suggestions and issues raised by the people would be included

Hyderabad: Stating that a “new state and new leadership” will be the TRS slogan for the polls, TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday asked Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu to spell out his stand on the demand for a change in the design of the Polavaram project and other Telangana issues.

Mr Rao said that all suggestions and issues raised by the Telangana people would be included in the party’s election manifesto, which is likely to be released on Ugadi.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam leader and actor Babu Mohan met the TRS chief and reportedly discussed his plans to contest to the Lok Sabha. However, he described the meeting as a courtesy call.
At a programme where several Warangal district leaders joined the TRS at the Telangana Bhavan, Mr Rao said, “Telugu Desam is an Andhra party,” and asked people to reject both the TDP and the Congress, which failed to provide succour to the Telangana people.

“What is Mr Chandrababau Naidu’s stand on our demands like a change in the design of Polavaram project, scrapping of the Dummgudem tail pond project, distribution of government employees based on nativity etc,” asked Mr Rao.

Warning people not to fall prey to the gimmicks of the Congress and the TDP, Mr Rao said only a massive victory of the TRS can ensure fulfilment of promises like the regularisation of contract employees, two bedroom houses for the poor, waiver of farm loans up to Rs one lakh, Rs 1,000 old age pension and Rs 1,500 pension for the physically challenged.

Meanwhile, TRS leader Ibrahim, who was sulking after denial of the Mahbubnagar Assembly ticket, quit the party and joined the Congress. He is the second leader after politburo member Sudhakar to quit the party in protest against the denial of tickets.
