YSR Congres chief , Jagan Reddy too plays Backward Class card

YSRC has finalised N. Balaji, a BC, for Prakasham district ZP chairperson candidate

Hyderabad: Worried by the Backward Class card being played by the Telugu Desam Party and the Congress, YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has nominated BC leaders for a majority of zilla parishad chairperson posts, including in the general category seats.

The YSRC has also decided to give the quota of municipal mayoral posts as well as undecided MP and MLA seats in Seemandhra to BCs. The party will be fielding BC candidates from Vizag, Srikakulam, Krishna and Chittoor (general, women) and East Godavari, West Godavari, Prakasam and Nellore (general). Three districts are reserved for BC candidate, Guntur (BC women), Kurnool and Anantapur. Vizaianagaram is reserved for STs and Kadapa for SCs.

YSRC has finalised Mr N. Balaji, a BC, for Prakasham district ZP chairperson candidate. Balaji is the district convenor of the party in Prakasham. The party has finalized Ms P. Bhargavi a BC (kalinga) for Srikakulam ZP chairperson candidate which is actually a open category seat. She filed nomination for Palasa ZPTC. She is a postgraduate in science. The party also nominated Ms B. Nagasubashini as YSRC ZP chairperson for Vishakapatnam.

For Anantapur, which is reserved for BC, party has finalized Mangamma as ZP chairperson candidate. She was an MLA ticket aspirant for Penugonda constituency. For Kurnool, Dr Madhu’s candidature has been finalized for ZP. Both of them belong to Boya community.

In general category Jagan has finalized one Bommireddy Raghavendar Reddy for ZP Chairperson post for Nellore. In Krishna district Ms Tatineni Padmavati has been selected as candidate for ZP chairperson. In Kadapa one Prasad, who owns gas agency, has been finalized for ZP chairperson in SC reserved.

For MP candidates, Jagan has already finalised Butta Renuka, a padmashali BC, for Kurnool which is a general category seat. Even in Hindupur in Anantapur, YSRC is searching for BC candidates.
“Our party is in search of BC candidates for several MLA candidates in the Seemandhra,” said a source.
