Andhra Pradesh districts feel summertime heat

Dry weather, clear skies leading to rise in day temperatures

Hyderabad: Although it is just March, the mercury has already hit 37 degree Celsius. All districts across Andhra Pradesh reported more than 33 degree Celsius on Wednesday. Mainly dry weather prevailed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Rayalaseema, reported MET officials. The officials predicted that mercury will rise to 40 degree Celsius by the end of March.

“On Tuesday maximum temperatures rose over the state and were appreciably above normal at some places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and normal over Rayalaseema. The minimum temperatures rose at one or two places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and little over Telangana and Rayalaseema,” an official release stated.

The highest maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius was recorded at Bhadrachalam. “We have not given any heat wave warning so far. The weather is very dry and clear skies are leading to a rise in temperatures,” said M. Narsimha Rao, assistant meteorologist centre.
