Biker babe Sameera Reddy & her beau

Sameera Reddy, who was in town for an event, gets chatty about life after marriage

She exudes a persona that the celluloid fails to capture. Dressed in casual chic, Sameera Reddy, who was in town for a fashion show says that currently she is busy planning her honeymoon and is also looking at starting a non-filmy venture with her husband, Akshai Varde.

Her marriage she says has filled her with calmness. “I was a workaholic but since Akshai stepped into my life, my priorities just fell into place,” says the actress.

Incidentally, though the two had known each other for long, they actually fell for one another while Sameera was in the city shooting for Varadhanayaka.

“It was last year in December, the weather was just perfect and I guess the sparks just flew,” adds Sameera.

Speaking of the city, she opines that over the years, the style quotient has been definitely rising. Does that mean we aren’t stylish? “No! It was always Delhi and Mumbai that was on the fashion map, but now things are different,” she explains.

The actress flies down to the city quite often considering one of her closest friend’s from college lives here. As a teenager, she never even gave the glamour industry a thought. “I remember we were bystanders at some shoot when we saw an actress getting make-up applied on her chest. I was shocked and formed an opinion right there that anyone who could do that is self-absorbed and superficial, only to realise, that five years later I was sitting in the exact same chair,” she says with a throaty laugh just before she went on stage for her show at Bangalore Central, JP Nagar.

On a sabbatical from work, this lass is busy planning her honeymoon. “We have just 12 days and I want to head towards Cuba or the Mediterranean. But we still haven’t been able to get down and plan!” she exclaims.

Sameera, a biker girl reveals that, she and Akshai realised that they could spend their lives together after they biked through Italy and Switzerland for a little over one week last November. “It was freezing but was just fantastic,” recalls the commerce graduate.

Sameera loves cooking and goes for cooking and baking courses whenever she travels abroad. “I am looking to starting a merchandising venture with Akshai for women bikers. There is barely any gear designed for the ladies. I am hoping that it will kick off soon,” says Sameera, whose first bike was a Royal Enfield.
