UK asks Russia to stay out

London: Russia should not intervene in the Ukraine crisis, UK’s foreign secretary William Hague said on Sunday, insisting it would not be in Moscow’s interests to weigh in.
Mr Hague said there was a “moment of opportunity” for Ukraine but there were still “many dangers” ahead. He added London was talking with Moscow and stressing that Ukraine becoming closer to the EU was in Russia’s interests too.
“It’s in the interests of the people of Ukraine to be able to trade more freely with the EU; it’s in the interests of the people of Russia for that to happen as well.”
Meanwhile, German Ch-ancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed that Ukraine’s “territorial integrity” must be ensured. Ms Merkel and Mr Putin also stressed the need for stability in Ukraine.
