Naidu expects party to win in both the states

Chandrababu Naidu tried to boost the morale of party leaders and cadre post bifurcation saying that the TD would win next polls.

Telugu Desam party president N. Chandrababu Naidu sounded the election bugle by asking partymen in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to gear up for general elections.

Mr Naidu tried to boost the morale of party leaders and cadre post bifurcation saying that the TD would win next polls with a thumping majority in both Telangana and Seemandhra region and it alone was competent to take up reconstruction of new states.

“I am confident that cycle (party symbol) will race like a bullet and none can stop it,” Mr Naidu said, adding that the TD alone could bury Congress at the Centre like in the past.

Mr Naidu held an extensive meeting with the Telangana TD leaders to strengthen the party and gear up for the coming elections by playing the development card. He plans to meet Andhra Pradesh TD leaders on Monday.

The party plans to organise Vijay Utsav at Chevella in Ranga Reddy district on February 26 to celebrate formation of Telangana. “It was Telugu Desam which developed Tela-ngana, Seemandhra and Hyderabad City. Telugu Desam is needed in Telangana, Seemandhra and India. If Hyderabad has become the centre of discussion during bifurcation of the state it was because the city was highly developed by TD and me,” he said.

Mr Naidu said Governor’s control of law and order over Hyderabad was unconstitutional, adding that such errors in the Bill is against people of both the regions. “I never op-posed Telangana, but wanted justice for Seemandhra. TD will ensure safety of all in Hyderabad and other regions as I invited them to invest,” he said. He brushed aside rivals’ comments that TD would soon lose cadre due to largescale desertions. “Telugu Desam will never be empty. Only selfish leaders quit the party but not the cadre in the past and now. TD cadre faced extremists in Telangana, problems in Rayalaseema, but they did not left the mother party,” he said.

Mr Naidu blamed TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, YSR Congress and the Congress for stagnating development in the state and city. “TRS is in few districts, YSRC in some and Congress in tatters. Telugu Desam alone has strength in all regions,” he said.
