‘Flappy Bird’ discontinued from App Store and Google Play

‘Flappy Bird’, a gaming app by Nguyen Ha Dong, is no more available on the App Store and Google Play.

Launched in 2013, it has been downloaded more than 50 million times on App Store alone. In an interview with ‘The Verge’ website, Dong revealed that the game was making almost $50,000 a day in advertising revenue. Even though it surged to the top downloads earlier this year, Flappy Bird was removed early Monday, February 10, 2014.

On Saturday, Nguyen tweeted that the Internet sensation caused by the game "ruins my simple life" and he now hated it. He didn't address the inflated downloads allegation related to this game. However, he denied withdrawing the game as it breached another game maker's copyright.
