Tirupati: Heavy rains on Sunday disrupted life at Tirumala, forcing devotees run for shelter at different places.
The sudden and heavy cloudburst, which began on Sunday afternoon, continued for hours together, causing extreme inconvenience to the visiting devotees.
Scores of devotees on a visit to Tirumala were left stranded at various places including the Annadanam complex, cottages, tonsure centres, reception counters and laddu counters.
Many devotees who came out of the Tirumala temple after darshan of Lord Venkateswara, had to also run a long distance to find shelter as there was no other respite in sight.
Motorists were forced to halt and take shelter under trees and shelter zones erected along the ghat roads, with no respite from the heavy downpour.
Meanwhile, there was also a 30-minute heavy drizzle in the temple town of Tirupati later in the day.
