Innovative solar panel model designed by Indian scientists

Indian scientists shifting focus towards solar energy as an effective energy source.
Visakhapatnam: With the focus shifting towards solar energy as an effective non-conventional energy source, Indian scientists have achieved a simple yet effective technological breakthrough which will increase the efficiency in harnessing solar energy.
The scientists found out that instead of using just a single solar panel, as is the norm, two solar panels placed one above the other will increase the output.
Speaking at the inaugural session of a national seminar-cum-workshop on non-conventional energy sources at Delta Studies Institute, Andhra University, T. Harinar-ayana, the director of Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute, said that, “With this new technique, energy generation will increase by 60-70%.”
Commercially available single solar panel generates 252 kWh of energy for 756 sq mt area and the energy will increase up to 445 kWh if one more panel is placed on the top it, at a distance of 10 mt. Stacking of more solar panels will help increase energy generation.
