AP techie held for sending obscene photos of ex-girlfriend to her fiancee

Visakhapatnam: A 32-year-old software professional from Hyderabad was on Saturday arrested for allegedly circulating photographs of his ex-girlfriend on the Internet, which prompted her to attempt suicide, police said.

The accused B. Pradeep Kumar Reddy, previously employed at a software firm at Madhapur in the state capital, allegedly sent some objectionable photographs of the victim on the personal e-mails of her fiancee and of her relatives.

"Reddy, a married man, posed himself as a bachelor and an HR professional working with a reputed software company and developed friendship with the girl around four years back," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) Mohammad Khan told reporters here.

Reddy and the victim, a resident of Gajuwaka area in city, developed a relationship which she broke off recently after coming to know that he was already married.

Police said Reddy would seek sexual favours from the girl promising to marry her. Even though the girl walked out on him, Reddy wanted to continue the affair and even forced her to elope with him, police said. However, the girl refused Reddy's proposal and decided to marry another man.

"When the girl discontinued her relationship with him, Reddy started making threatening calls to her and her family members. He forwarded her objectionable photos, along with abusive comments, to the e-mails of her fiancee and her relatives," Khan said. This resulted into her fiancee cancelling the marriage, which prompted the girl to attempt suicide recently, he said.

After coming to know that objectionable photos of his daughter have found the way on the Internet, her father lodged a complaint at Gajuwaka police station on October 28 against Reddy.

Police traced Reddy in Hyderabad and booked him under sections 417 (punishment for cheating) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of IPC besides section 66 (A) of IT Act 2000.

Warangal: Three boys aged between 14 and 15 years gang raped an eight-year-old tribal girl, filmed the act on a mobile phone and shared it with their friends and neighbours in Nekkonda mandal in Warangal.

Sources said that incident occurred on November 15 at the victim’s residence at BC Colony in Nekkonda when she was left alone by her parents who had left for work in an agricultural field.

The incident came to light on Friday when the MMS clips filmed by the three boys — two Class VIII students of a government school and a dropout — started being circulated in Nekkonda town, drawing the attention of the victim’s neighbours and the local police.

Nekkonda police sources said that till the MMS clip surfaced, the victim’s parents were not aware of the incident.

“Even when they took her to a private doctor in Nekkonda on November 20 after she complained of stomach pain, they remained clueless,” said Nekkonda police station sub inspector S. Amruth Reddy.

However, while investigating the origin of the MMS video clip, the Nekkonda police got a clue about the gangrape when parents of one the three accused boys reportedly entered into an altercation with the parents of another co-accused, blaming the latter for the incident.

Their confession led the police to immediately launch a drive against suspected mobile and CD centre owners in town on Saturday.

The police also seized quite a few memory cards from mobile phones of those who had received the MMS clip.

Sources said that the 15-year-old school dropout had hatched the plan to commit the crime on November 15 with the help of his two friends as there was an ongoing dispute between the victim’s and his family.

Boy hated victim’s mother

One of the boys who gang raped a tribal girl in Warangal had reportedly developed a grudge against the victim’s mother after it was rumoured that she was having an illicit relationship with his father, affecting his family’s reputation in Nekkonda.

Upon getting a formal complaint, the Nekkonda police sent the minor victim for medical examination to MGM hospital and registered cases against the trio under the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013, besides relevant provisions of SC/ST Atrocities Act and Protection of Children Under Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

“Based on the outcome of the medical examination, we will arrest the three minors involved in the case,” Narsempet DSP K.V. Saritha told media persons at Narsempet on Saturday.

Industrialist, actress held in sex racket

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Tuesday busted a high-profile sex racket by arresting a famous industrialist in the city and “rescuing” an upcoming TV serial actress at Madhapur.

Cops nabbed the industrialist S.K. Goenka, 60, the managing director of Jay Raj Ispat Limited, and a resident of Banjara Hills, after a raid on Tuesday night. However, the main agent of the racket Madan, 35, fled from the spot before the raid.

Following a tip-off, a team of Cyberabad special operations conducted the raid at Fortune Towers at Madhapur. The 22-year-old actress, who acted in Telugu TV serials like Laya, was seen with Goenka in the room, police officials said.

“We had got information that the accused and victim were at Fortune Towers. We raided the place and found them at flat number 203. They have confessed to their involvement,” said SOT chief K. Govardhan Reddy, adding, the agent Madan was absconding.

“The main agent of the racket, Madan, is absconding now. He hails from Visakhapatnam and is a wanted sex racket agent by the city police,” said SOT inspector Ch. Kushalkar. The cops said Madan “arranged” the serial actress for Goenka.

Agent had close links in Tollywood

The cops said that Madan, the main agent of the busted sex-racket, got the actress for Goenka, who approached him through another person. Madan, who had already been involved in many other trafficking cases, is said to have close connections with celebrities in Tollywood and the TV industry.

The investigation officers are still investigating other members of the sex racket. They suspect that a big nexus is functioning in the city through Madan’s racket.

Cops said that Goenka who has been running Jay Raj Ispat Limited for the last 37 years, was one of the customers of the racket. They added that more bigwigs from the city must have been customers of the same racket.

The SOT chief said that more information about the racket will come out after a detailed investigation. Madhapur police has launched an investigation.

Cops have now booked a case using sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act. The actress will be sent to one of the rescue homes in the city.

According to reports, the actual father of the victim had died when she was just 2 years old and her mother had started living with the accused thereafter. The victim’s mother too passed away due to ill-health after three years.

The accused had then left the girl in the care of her relatives in Chennai. He got married to another woman and even had two kids of his own.

Last year, the accused picked up the victim from her relatives’ place assuring them that he would take good care of her. He then took her to his mother, who lives in Gudur. However, last month, the accused brought the victim to Podalakur and kept her in a rented house.

The girl was shocked when he attempted to molest her. When she resisted, the accused beat her up. But the young girl continued to reject his advances.

The girl later told the police that the accused had tied her hands and legs and had stuffed a piece of cloth into her mouth before molesting her on Friday night.

Police has registered a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and has sent the girl for medical examination. Cops have also detained the accused.
