Rayala Telangana opposed

Congress plans to jeopardise T and drop bifurcation move, opines BJP.

Nellore: BJP has strongly opposed the Rayala Telangana proposal and suspected a hidden agenda of Congress behind the move.

BJP Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Committee chairman Yadlapati Raghunadh Babu said, “It appears that the Congress is trying to bring pressure on TRS through Rayala Telangana proposal to force the party to join Congress or it may be to jeopardise Telangana issue and drop the bifurcation exercise all together.”

Questioning the rationale behind merging Anantapur and Kurnool with Telangana ignoring other two Rayalaseema districts – Kadapa and Chittoor even when people of both Telangana and Rayalaseema are against it, he suspected that it may be to hit the prospects of Naidu and Jagan to become Chief Ministers.

Raghunadh Babu has alleged that the fate of several irrigation projects including Telugu Ganga, Handri-Neeva will be sealed once for all if Rayala Telangana becomes a reality.

Accusing Congress for amending CWC decision to form Telangana with 10 districts, he said that the ruling party has been handling the division issue in most objectionable manner.

Reacting to a question, he said that his party will not back Telangana Bill unless the concerns of Seemandhra people are addressed before placing the Bill in the Parliament.

Speaking on the occasion BJP district president P. Surendra Reddy has criticised finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy for the role he is playing in diversion of water from Kandaleru to address the water needs of Chittoor district.

He demanded that the government clear the outstanding dues for the sugarcane farmers under Kovur Cooperative Sugar Factory. Anjaneya Reddy has alleged that Congress leaders are on a money-making spree as there is no chance for the party to return to power.

He said that the estimates of Somasila High Level Canal have been doubled overnight and sanction also accorded for the benefit of party leaders. He added that the '4,000 crore estimated water scheme for Chittoor also designed to fill the pockets of Congress bigwigs.
