The press conference held in the city to promote 'R… Rajkumar' on Tuesday turned out to be an emotional affair. While lead actress Sonakshi Sinha could not attend due to a leg injury, late Telugu actor Srihari’s wife and yesteryear actress Disco Shanti showed up to every one’s surprise.
Not many were aware that 'R… Rajkumar' was Srihari’s last film and it was during one of its schedules in October that he complained of giddiness and later died.
“This was the last movie he (Srihari) shot. It was like he went for shooting one day and the next day he was gone,” said Shanti, breaking down. Wiping her tears she added, “He had a lot of hopes from this movie.” The film’s director, Prabhu Deva, stood by her side consoling her. “I have known Prabhu Deva since my first song. He has gone to Bollywood from South. I hope he will go beyond this, to Hollywood,” said Shanti, adding, “'R… Rajkumar' will turn out to be good as it’s being directed by Prabhu Deva.” Shanti’s gesture of turning up at the event, even left Prabhu Deva choked with emotions.
