Snooping: Babu asks for CBI probe

Father of the girl who was snooped upon gives clean chit to Narendra Modi.

New Delhi: Suspended Gujarat IAS officer Pradeep Sharma’s counsel, Prashant Bhushan told the media that the snooping incident had thrown up some startling revelations, and that he would be filing a formal application in the Supreme Court by the end of the week demanding a detailed CBI probe into the incident as the same officer was also affected by the snooping charge.

The controversy has led to a slugfest between the Congress and the BJP. The Congress already fielded a four-member all- woman team to take on the BJP PM candidate.
“If surveillance is being mounted in such a way, then this amounts to breach of privacy,” Tewari said. “Are people OK if their mothers and daughters are being snooped upon by the state machinery?” he asked.

Meanwhile, the father of the girl, shot a letter to the National Commission for Women and Gujarat State Commission for women giving Mr Modi and the administration a clean chit.
The father comes from a Sangh background and reportedly has close family ties with Modi.

He wrote that “In the 2009 due to personal and family reasons I had made a personal request to the CM to take steps in my daughter’s interest.

Considering the fact that the issues bothering me and my family were personal in nature I deemed it fit to make a verbal request to Modi as political head of the state of Gujarat with whom I have long standing relations spread over two decades.”

While Opposition been gunning for Modi over the alleged snooping, the father wrote, “My daughter is fully aware of all types of help that was rendered by the state considering a genuine request of a father for his daughter.”
