Kottayam: T.J. Joseph, former head of the department of Malayalam at Newman’s College, Thodupuzha, is happy that the court has dismissed the charges against him filed by the police in connection with the controversial question paper which had created an uproar leading to the attack on him by some fundamentalists in 2010.

"Though I have the right to seek compensation for the injustice meted out to me resulting in the loss of my job and tarnishing my reputation following the case , I am yet to decide whether I should approach the court seeking compensation," he told DC.

"I will decide regarding seeking compensation after holding discussions with those close to me. I am happy that the Thodupuzha Chief Judicial Magistrate Court understood my innocence," he said.

He said he never believed that his colleagues or students had a role in his losing the job and causing discredit to him. "There is a mystery how the question paper that I prepared for an internal examination was leaked resulting in the pandemonium", Joseph said.
