TD slams KCR on T Ganga Project

TRS chief came under fire for his allegation that Kandaleru, Somasila are illegal projects.

Nellore: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader K. Chandrasekhar Rao came under fire from Telugu Desam for his recent comments against Telugu Ganga project. Former minister and TD politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy lambasted the TRS chief for his allegation that Kandaleru and Somasila are illegal projects.

Reminding that Kandaleru and Somasila are part of Telugu Ganga project, he pointed to 15 tmc ft allotted for the project to supply drinking water to Chennai from Nellore. He fumed at KCR for talking about the project without basic knowledge on the subject.

In a sarcastic tone, he advised KCR to contact the then CM Jalagam Vengal Rao or then PM Indira Gandhi while pointing to their role behind the project.

Chandramohan Reddy has criticised the government and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for failing to cancel the licence of Kineta Power Project promoted by former MP Balashouri.

He alleged that the former MP became the chairman of the company though his share was only 0.02 per cent and now he is planning to transfer the management of Kineta to Jindal Company.
Referring to APIIC recommendation to transfer the ownership, he alleged that the move is illegal as per APIIC allotment regulations-2012.

Reddy expressed surprise over CM’s silence on the issue even when Balashouri is all set to join YSR Congress. The TD senior leader has suspected foul play behind the developments.

He said that the CM as well as APIIC not responded to the letter submitted by TD Chief Chandrababu Naidu few days ago.

He said that he has mailed a letter with all the details to the principal secretary of industries department on Wednesday.

He demanded that the APIIC take back land allotted to several power projects if they did not start any work yet and allot the same to promising industrialists.

Reddy has also demanded a minimum of Rs 3.50 lakh as compensation for erecting High Tension Transmission Towers in private lands.

He alleged that power producing companies are not paying the amount even after agreeing for the sum before the collector sometime ago.
