Mandsaur (MP): A passenger was killed and three others, including the bus conductor, were injured when a policeman, travelling in the bus, opened fire from his service revolver at Suwasara, about 70 km from here, last night.

Special Armed Force (SAF) jawan Dinesh Marskole, who was going to Mandsaur from Bhanpura by the bus last night, whipped out his revolver and fired shots, Suwasara police station in-charge O S Thakur said on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Rakesh (25), who was going to Udaipur from Chandwas, while bus conductor Mukesh (38), Gita Bai (40) and Zafar Khan (19) sustained bullet injuries. They were admitted in the district hospital.

Markole is a jawan of SAF's 24th batallion and was deployed in security team guarding Garoth MLA Subhash Sojatiya, the police officer said.

The reason for his act was yet to be found out, Thakur said, adding the accused, who hails from Betul, was arrested and his revolver seized.
