Divas ditch label hunting

If you thought outdoor adventures were a guy thing, think again. Actresses now no longer just while away their time shopping, while shooting in exotic locations.

Instead, these glam dolls are now trying out various adventure sports. While Amala Paul decided to explore under water life in the Andamans, the Chikku Bhukku actress Preetika Rao went on a night safari trip in Singapore.

“This time when I was in Singapore shooting for my Kannada movie Rebel, I preferred to do something different instead of the usual shopping. Luckily, my sister Amrita had told me not to miss out on The Singapore Night Safari hosted by the Singapore Zoo, and I made sure to catch some adventure!” says Preetika.

She further shares her experience saying, “The Singapore Zoo has created a man-made ‘forest’ for the safari, which started at 7 pm. We watched the animals from a distance of 30 to 80 feet distance.

The zoo has many animals like the Malayan tapir, Indian wolves, hippopotamus, African elephants etc. and these animals are not caged but moving around in their carefully created natural environment —A delightful sight for any animal lover!” She adds, “Because it’s a night-safari we were not allowed to click pictures as the flash would scare the animals away. Watching the animals from a close distance though, was fantastic.”

Animal lover and adventure junkie Trisha recently made a trip to the Ranthambore National Sanctuary in Jaipur, with two of her close friends and enjoyed admiring animals and birds. “I make it a point to go with friends on an annual holiday. It not only helps me unwind but is also a great stress buster,” smiles Trisha.

When your work takes you to exotic locales, exploring the city is the right option opines Trisha, who apparently when in Goa too, chose to check out unexplored beaches and local eateries.

Even Preity Zinta when she first burst on to the scene, vouched for the Australian scenic beauty and made a couple of adventure trips on which she even visited berry farms in rural Australia.

Similarly, Gul too in earlier interactions with DC, had said, “Exploring places adds to my knowledge of the people, culture and even about a certain aspect about myself. It’s essential to keep an open mind.”
