Lucknow: A teacher of a private school in an Uttar Pradesh village has been accused of forcibly stripping a 10-year-old girl student and photographing her on his mobile phone, police said on Wednesday.
Rajesh Shukla Tuesday allegedly molested the Class 5 student of Swamy Harihar School in Mahmoodpur village of Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district, some 250 km from Lucknow. He was absconding.
"We are carrying out raids to nab Shukla. We have detained the managerial staff of the school to know the whereabouts of the teacher," said police Inspector F.A. Pundir.
According to police, the girl's father Ram Singh Chauhan, a resident of the Saurikh village in Mahmoodpur, registered the compliant against the teacher on Tuesday night.
In the complaint, Chauhan alleged that Shukla on the pretext of discussing the syllabus called the girl to a vacant classroom and molested her. The teacher also threatened the girl of dire consequences if she told anybody about the incident.
School manager Harihar Baba told reporters: "Strict action would be taken against the teacher. Other teachers in the school have recommended termination of Shukla's services."
In the wake of the incident, several parents on Wednesday morning demonstrated in front of the school, demanding arrest of the teacher. Some of the angry parents even barged inside the manager's office, where they assaulted staff members.

It is really unfortunate that such incidents are taking place in educational institutions which are considered as temple of learning. Teachers must be thoroughly screened not only by the interview board but also by an experienced psychologist to know the state of mind of the teacher. The teacher who has done this heinous crime has to be blacklisted and should be sent to mental asylum for thorough check-up and may be kept for several years for this crime.
The teacher who has done this act is not a normal person. He is suffering from mental illness and perverted mind. He should be sent to mental hospital for examination by a psychiatrist under the supervision of police. If found normal he should be punished according to law and if found to have mental illness he should be treated in the mental hospital.
Without any delay trace the culprit and punish him in public. Let him die of shame or live as an example among people for the sin he committed.
Teachers should be role models for their students and guide them, teach them what's right and wrong, so as to protect them from different forms of evils. But it is so disgusting to know that teachers themselves are involved in such immoral acts, being a disgrace to a respectable and honourable profession.
